Family Based immigration

A lawful permanent resident can apply for naturalization to U.S. citizenship status after a certain period, and after meeting certain requirements. You may also be eligible to apply as an immediate relative of a U.S. citizen, relative of a LPR under family-based preference categories, fiancé of a U.S. citizen or even as a widow(er) of a U.S. citizen.
